Teeth and claws bared, the cat soared
Toward my face, its tail waving frantically
Balancing in our skimpy atmosphere
Through raised fur I saw your broad face harsh
Pursuing our puss; so i ducked
And the cat splatted the wall
Bounced, squalled
Landed running
But you I couldn't escape; your fists
You BASTARD! you BASTARD! you bellowed. I
Was laughing so much the tears flowed
All over the pain

Hi L,
I was beginning to wonder about (for you) a long gap between posts. And then you bounce back with this.
I don't know why, but this piece gets to me. Shades of cartoons; childhood or elemental emotions; raw, visceral 'stuff'.
And after the splatters, we have the sweet soothing saltiness of the last lines.
Nice one.
