In a Democracy, those of us who are enfranchised (have the vote), whether we voted for the current administration or not, while not culpable of, are responsible for the policies and actions of our governments. That is the inherent collective responsibility imposed on us by the luxury we have of living in a democracy. In a democracy, if you have the vote, everything the government does is in your name.
Possibly the most uncomfortable consequence of this is that in a democracy, only those without the vote are "innocent civilians".

The U.S. Declaration of Independence states that, "Whenever any form of government becomes destructive to those ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it & institute new government." You have in the U.S. a population that embraces Trump & feels his heavy handed actions, especially as it relates to citizenship & immigration, are justified. Many others are on edge, as hate crimes increase daily. For the 1st time in decades, I did not vote in this Presidential Election. My Dad was dying in the hospital, & being with him was more important. We the people need to exercise our right to change the way government is operated, & that should include those who are homeless or have spent time in jail in the past.
