WHAT I WANT

I want to wake up
In a world where
Stupid is not the norm
Ignorance is not the aim
And psychosis is not the dominant philosophy
I can’t see that happening in my lifetime

The only evidence we have
is that the words religionists tell us we must obey
because God spoke them
were in fact written by men.
On the other hand
If you're not interested in evidence
Good luck in court if you're on trial
for a crime you didn't commit

What was it for?
Why did your daughter and my son
have to die?
Now we've flown away
Why are the daughters we abandoned
Again caged?
Those men with guns
Why are they and their God
so afraid
of these women and girls
Alive
but erased?

I'm an atheist

by which I mean

God as generally presented

Is insultingly absurd

but most importantly

is exclusively wielded

as a political weapon

I oppose

both

of those

A POSITIVE ACT WITH A POSITIVE MESSAGE

In shared global security self-interest, perhaps a coalition of India, USA, Pakistan, UK and others (some EU nations, perhaps even Russia would like to display itself in a positive light) with a UN mandate for Afghanistan to be designated a Global Protectorate aimed at saving 50%+ of Afghans (women and girls) from enslavement, would be a not so far fetched ethical action.

The Never Ending Story

He is distressed to the point of agony

We try to comfort him with food and drink

and a soft bed for the night but

he cannot sleep and refuses to eat or drink

He says he lives in a country where

the people would rather pray

than reason

rather kill or die

than think or admit

they could be wrong

He'd seek asylum in another land

he says

but the lazy diseases, faith and belief,

are a global pandemic more infectious

and deadlier

than any Covid variant
